Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This Chrome extension ("TrueNorth ATS Extension") is developed and maintained by True Tech Professionals Private Limited ("TTP," "we," "us"), an IT staffing firm headquartered in Panchkula, Haryana, India. The extension is designed for use by authorized TTP recruiters as part of the TrueNorth ATS recruitment platform.

2. What This Extension Does

The TrueNorth ATS Extension assists authorized recruiters by reading publicly visible information on LinkedIn profile pages that the recruiter is actively viewing, scoring candidate profiles against open job descriptions in the TrueNorth ATS system, and enabling one-click import of candidate data into TrueNorth ATS.

3. Data We Collect

When a recruiter uses the extension on a LinkedIn page, the extension reads the following information from the page content that is already visible to the logged-in recruiter:

• Candidate name, headline, and current job title
• Current company and location
• LinkedIn profile URL
• Skills listed on the profile
• Resume/CV files (only when the recruiter explicitly initiates a download and chooses to import)

The extension also stores locally in the browser:

• Your TrueNorth API authentication key
• Extension preferences and settings
• Cached scoring results for the current browsing session

4. How We Use This Data

The collected data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Checking if a candidate already exists in the TrueNorth ATS database (deduplication)
• Scoring the candidate's profile against active job descriptions using AI matching
• Creating or updating candidate records in TrueNorth ATS when the recruiter initiates an import
• Tracking recruiter activity (profile views, import actions) for internal performance reporting

5. Where Data Is Sent

Data read from LinkedIn pages is transmitted to the TrueNorth ATS backend server hosted on Railway (a cloud infrastructure provider). All communication between the extension and the TrueNorth server uses HTTPS encryption. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database managed by TTP.

We do not transmit data to any other third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics platforms.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share candidate data collected through this extension with any third parties. The data is used solely within the TrueNorth ATS platform by authorized TTP staff for recruitment purposes.

7. Data Retention

Candidate data imported into TrueNorth ATS is retained as part of the recruitment database for the duration of the business relationship. Locally cached data in the browser (scoring results, session data) is cleared when the browser session ends or when the extension is uninstalled.

8. Your Rights

Candidates whose data has been imported into TrueNorth ATS may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data by contacting us at the email address below. We will respond to such requests within 30 days.

9. LinkedIn Terms of Service

This extension complies with LinkedIn's terms of service. It does not scrape data in bulk, automate navigation, or access data that the recruiter cannot already see on screen. It reads only the content visible to the logged-in recruiter on pages they actively visit, similar to other recruitment tool extensions available in the Chrome Web Store.

10. Permissions Explained

• Host permission (linkedin.com): Required to read profile data from LinkedIn pages the recruiter is viewing.
• Host permission (TrueNorth API domain): Required to communicate with the TrueNorth ATS backend for scoring and import.
• Storage: Required to save the API key and extension settings locally in the browser.
• Active Tab: Required to access the content of the currently active LinkedIn tab when the recruiter interacts with the extension.

11. Security

All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. API authentication uses secure API keys. The extension follows Chrome Manifest V3 security standards, including isolated content scripts and a service worker architecture.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
